Employee benefits are one of the methods used by employers to entice new employees and to maintain loyalty among present employees. The main ones being a company pension scheme, life assurance and medical health insurance. Innovative employee benefits can give employers a significant edge in attracting new employees. A survey at the end of 2017 by one of the large employee benefits companies had the following results:

  • 85% of employees are more likely to work for employers who offer clearly labelled benefits
  • This rises to 94% of workers aged 25-34
  • A third (31%) wish their employer would provide more information about their benefits
  • A fifth (19%) received information about their benefits when they first joined, but never again after that
  • Employers are seen as most responsible for ensuring employee benefits are clearly understood

The results show that clearer employee benefit information is needed for companies to win the battle to recruit and retain staff.

Employers who then go the extra mile above standard employee benefits packages may be looking at some extra loyal employees.
